Miranda Lambert‘s new, nostalgic single, “Automatic,” brings back memories of her simple childhood back home in Texas.
She says, “It’s about slowing down and remembering to take a breath, and what it’s like to be a little bit more simple, and not really about changing and going back there, but just reminiscing about what it was like.”
The song’s references to using a laundry line to dry clothes and learning to drive her ’55 Chevy help Miranda keep from stressing out with her day-to-day work demands.
She explains, “When I hear it, it reminds me to take a deep breath and think about those good memories and try to instill them in my hectic life right now.”
Miranda will be very busy as she gears up to release her new studio album later this year.
