(GARY, Ind.) — Five people were shot at a senior center in Gary, Indiana, on Thursday.
Gabrielle King with the Gary Police Department said when officers arrived Thursday at the Safe and Sound Senior Citizens Social Club “they found that there were multiple shooting victims, and one suspect who had also been shot.”
The suspect is a 23-year-old, who police say walked into the club and tried to rob the people inside by forcing them to the ground at gunpoint. Shots were fired, including at least one that hit the suspect. But police don’t know who shot the gunman. The four others shot were all men ranging in age from 43 to 76.
A suspect is in custody.
