(WASHINGTON) — The White House went on lockdown for a short time Friday afternoon when a man apparently tried to jump the fence.
Secret Service officers and Park Police grabbed the suspect before he could scramble over the fence. The man left behind two bags which were checked by Washington, D.C., police officers and the area remained sealed off until that was complete.
At the time of the attempted fence-jumping, President Obama was still in Michigan where he signed a new farm bill into law.
