Jennifer Nettles is easily one of country music’s most beautiful and talented women, but that doesn’t make her exempt from being “super-critical” of herself. In the cover story of Redbook‘s March issue, Jennifer admits she really struggles with perfectionism, especially when it comes to parenting her son, Magnus.
“There’s no perfect way to do it! You know?” Jennifer says. “It’s important to have an examined life, but it’s a fine line between having an examined life and being hypercritical of oneself. There has to be balance in there somewhere. I haven’t found it yet. When I do, I’ll let you know.”
On the music front, Jennifer is very pleased with the response her debut solo project, That Girl, has received from fans. The project debuted at #1 on Billboard‘s Country Albums chart last month.
She says, “The warm and positive response to this album has been simultaneously inspiring, motivating, and a relief. Now I want to get out there and give the fans a beautiful and intimate performance of these songs live on tour.”
Jennifer’s interview with Redbook hits stands February 11. Her That Girl tour launches February 14 in Washington, D.C.
