(NEW YORK) — The Super Bowl was big business for sex traffickers.
More than 45 pimps were arrested in an operation tied to Super Bowl XLVIII, authorities said Monday.
Sixteen underage sex workers, from 13 to 17 years old, were rescued. The FBI said they included high school students and runaways forced into prostitution at the Super Bowl, which has become a lucrative opportunity for child sex trafficking.
