(NEW YORK) — Police arrested a New York man with a loaded rifle, machete and container of gasoline on Friday after he threatened to kill former President George W. Bush.

Benjamin Smith, 44, of Pittsford, New York, said he wanted to start a romantic relationship with Bush’s daughter, Barbara. Authorities found him in Manhattan after he left a note with his mother in which he threatened to kill the 43rd President, the New York Daily News reports. She notified Monroe County police of the letter on Thursday afternoon.

“I have to slay a dragon and then Barbara Bush will be mine,” he wrote.

Officials arrested Smith for threats against a former President, the United States Secret Service confirmed to ABC News. They are working with the New York City Police Department on the investigation. A loaded Rossi .38-caliber rifle and a container of gas were found in his car.

Smith also told authorities he is divorced and “working on a relationship with Barbara Bush.”  He is currently being held without bail.
