(COLUMBIA, Md.) — Police in Howard County, Md., still don’t know if a 19-year-old gunman had specifically targeted two store employees when he shot them and himself to death last Saturday at The Mall in Columbia.
Police say in Dario Marcus Aguilar’s journal, which was found at the home he shared with his mother, the teen expressed “thoughts of wanting to die” and said “he is ready to die.” “He expresses a general hatred of others” in the journal, according to police.
Cops also said “Aguilar mentions killing people, but in general terms. He does not mention the victims, or any other specific person.”
The journal also indicates that the skateboarder, who took the lives of Zumiez workers Brianna Benlolo, 21, and Tyler Johnson, 25, talked about going through with a plan, but did not specify what it was.
“Aguilar expresses apology to his family for what he is planning to do,” according to police.
