(LOS ANGELES) — Police served a search warrant at a Santa Ana home on Wednesday and were surprised to find hundreds of snakes.
According to KABC, ABC’s Los Angeles affiliate, authorities were investigating the home after neighbors complained of a foul odor. Once inside, officers found at least 300 snakes. In addition to the snakes, police found live mice and rats.
The homeowner, an elementary school teacher, was taken into custody. Police did not announce charges being filed against the man.
