Home / Local Sanford, NC News / Law enforcement urges safe driving

SANFORD–With heavy snow expected to begin falling by lunch time, local officers are reminding motorists to get off the roads as soon as possible, and if going out isn’t necessary, to stay at home. The DOT has been salting roads in preparation for the winter blast, however, many areas will not be privy to that assistance. With the extremely cold temperatures, emergency workers say what ever falls will stay around for awhile. CEMC and Duke-Energy say they are ready for whatever comes. Other emergency personnel have issued warnings about home safety, especially for people with kerosun and kerosene heaters.
