(WEST LAFAYETTE, Ind.) — Shots were fired at Purdue University in West Lafayette, Ind., on Tuesday.

Campus police confirmed that a shooting occurred at the electrical engineering building.

One person is in custody and police are continuing to search the area, though they have finished clearing the building, according to the university.

The shooting triggered a “shelter in place” text message alert for the rest of campus, the school told ABC News affiliate WRTV.

There were no immediate details on whether there were any injuries.
