(OMAHA, Nebraska) — At least 10 people are injured after an industrial accident in Omaha, Nebraska Monday.
A fire and explosion was reported at International Nutrition, an animal feed processing plant. Part of the building has reportedly collapsed and one person may still be trapped inside.
Omaha Fire Chief Bernie Kanger said, “International Nutrition does food products typically I believe for animal consumption, vitamins and things of that nature so there is no hazardous chemicals that are involved in this incident.”
One woman outside the building, whose 21-year-old son works at the plant, said, “Even though you see it daily, you don’t think that it’s going to hit home and when it does, it’s a struggle so it’s what I’m going through right now. I’m just struggling with it.”
The cause of the accident is still unknown.
