(LOS ANGELES) — The California woman who became known as “Octomom” has been charged with welfare fraud in Los Angeles.

Nadya Suleman, the 38-year-old mother of 14, who became the focus of worldwide attention after she gave birth to octuplets, failed to report $30,000 in earnings when she applied for welfare, according to Los Angeles County prosecutors.

The district attorney says Suleman did not disclose that she’s been getting paid for personal appearances and residuals from videos.

If convicted, she could get close to six years in prison.
