(NEW YORK) – The New York City Fire Department was battling a fire in a residential skyscraper on the west side of Manhattan on Sunday.
The three-alarm fire reportedly broke out on the 20th floor in an apartment and then spread to upper floors.
According to ABC’s Lisa Colagrossi, two people were seriously hurt and were taken to the hospital.
One resident said, “I was actually looking out my balcony and the first thing I thought was that the fog had just really set in heavily. I didn’t realize it was smoke at first.”
Over 100 firefighters, including the FDNY’s special high rise unit, were at the scene.
