Home / Music News / Taylor Swift and Florida Georgia Line Take Country Into the Mainstream on the AMAs


When the American Music Awards air live from Los Angeles on Sunday night, country music will be well-represented, with both Taylor Swift and Florida Georgia Line racking up multiple nominations in the all-genre categories.

Taylor is up for the big award, Artist of the Year overall, while Florida Georgia Line has a shot at the New Artist trophy across all formats. They’re also in the running for Single of the Year for the version of “Cruise” that features Nelly. Taylor also picked up Pop/Rock nods for Female Artist and Album for Red.

Prior to the show, you can catch Jake Owen live on the red carpet, in his official capacity as a correspondent. Coverage kicks off at 5 p.m. ET online.

When the show gets underway, Lady Antebellum, Nashville’s Hayden Panettiere and Taylor will all be standing by as presenters. Luke Bryan and Florida Georgia Line are both set to perform. 

You can watch the AMAs Sunday at 8 p.m. Eastern on ABC.
