SANFORD–Lee County Sheriff Tracy Carter has identified the man killed in a home invasion at his home on Hickory Nut Court early Friday as 45 year old Anthony Wayne Giles, a local logger. Authorities are seeking a suspect who was allegedly wearing a sweatshirt with the words “Sheriff’s Department”. He is described as black with short dreadlocks, wearing tan cargo pants and carrying an assault type rifle. He allegedly responded that he was the sheriff when Mrs. Giles answered the door around 5:48 am. He didn’t harm her or the children, but did tie her up.
