Lady Antebellum just released their album, Golden, earlier this year, but they just couldn’t wait to get brand-new music out to their fans. That’s why the group is putting out an expanded version of that album, Golden Deluxe, on Monday.
The project features three new songs, including the current single, “Compass.” That song came to Lady A over the summer while the group’s Hillary Scott was on maternity leave. Her band mate, Charles Kelley, tells ABC News Radio that song was the perfect song to get Lady A back in the spotlight as they gear up for their Take Me Downtown tour next year.
“It just felt like it would also inject a little energy into this record since we’ve been gone for little awhile, and into the tour,” Charles explains. “So, we love the message of it, but more than anything, just love the feel of it. It had that anthemic energy that we wanted.”
So, why wouldn’t Lady Antebellum just wait to release “Compass” when their next full album came out?
Charles says, “We live in the day and age where why when you get a song that you love, and you know your fans are going to respond to, you know, if you can get creative, why not just put it out there.”
Look for Lady Antebellum to promote Golden Deluxe with an appearance on Katie Tuesday followed by a performance on CBS’s Late Show with David Letterman Friday.
