Tim McGraw could walk away with yet another CMA Award or two Wednesday night. He’s mentioned in three categories thanks to his collaboration with Taylor Swift and Keith Urban on “Highway Don’t Care,” and Tim would gladly accept some more hardware for his overstuffed trophy case.

“Well, you know, they’re always nice,” Tim says. “I mean, I don’t think anybody does not want to win an award.”

In addition to performing his latest hit, “Southern Girl,” on the show, Tim looks forward to sharing the CMA Awards spotlight with newcomers like Kacey Musgraves and Florida Georgia Line. They’re both set to perform on the show, and Tim knows that when new acts get that kind of exposure it’s good for the country format in the long run.

Tim says, “It perpetuates our music and our love of music.  And you see these guys who are coming up and these girls who are coming up and doing great stuff and sometimes that’s the way they get introduced to the country, in a lot of ways.”

The 47th Annual CMA Awards air live on ABC Wednesday night at 8 ET.
