Kenny Chesney‘s CBS Sunday Morning profile is finally airing this Sunday after being rescheduled from an earlier air date. It turns out the producers decided Kenny’s piece was strong enough to save for fall sweeps — the ratings period used to determine how much advertisers will pay for a commercial on a show.
In the profile, Kenny allows cameras backstage at his recently wrapped No Shoes Nation tour, which played 19 NFL stadiums this year. He also takes them along for a visit to Boston Medical Center to meet the people benefiting from his Spread the Love Fund. Kenny established that fund to help amputee victims from the Boston Marathon bombings.
Looking back on that hospital visit, Kenny says, “Meeting these amazing people who’re putting their lives together, hearing their stories and seeing how they approach getting their lives back… I was moved beyond words.”
This CBS Sunday Morning profile will be the last chance to see Kenny for a while. He’s taking 2014 off the road to work on his next studio album.
