(SEATTLE) — An Amber Alert was issued for a day-old baby girl who police say was taken by her mother just moments after she was delivered.

Jamie Martini, 20, of Mill Creek, Wash., delivered her infant daughter, Annabelle, at her apartment at 4:30 a.m. Friday and is suspected of taking off with the newborn, according to the Amber Alert.

The infant is suffering from “life-threatening medical conditions and is in need of medical attention,” police said.

The midwife who assisted the home birth called 911 after the baby girl was having difficulty breathing and her skin turned a grayish color, ABC News’ Seattle affiliate KOMO-TV reported. But Martini apparently canceled the request for paramedics and decided to take the baby to a local hospital herself, Mill Creek Police Officer Ian Durkee said.

“They never arrived at any local hospital, either in Snohomish County or in King County,” Durkee told KOMO-TV. “At this point we don’t know where they’re at and that’s why we’re trying to locate them.”

Police believe Martini may be driving a dark green Lexus SC400 with Washington license plate number 871WJF or a white 2001 BMW 330CI with Washington license plate number AJD7417, KOMO-TV reported.

“She was transported by an aunt and the aunt is no longer with her. She was allegedly dropped off at a hospital but that hospital has had no contact with her, so we don’t know of any vehicle that she might have access to,” Durkee told KOMO-TV.

Martini is 5-foot-3, 135 pounds, with long, straight blonde hair and brown eyes. She is of Native American descent, the Amber Alert said.

Anyone with information about the mother and newborn’s whereabouts should contact police at (425) 921-5771 or call 911.
