SANFORD–With the arrival of the fall season, drivers on North Carolina roads need to be alert for an increase in the possibility of collisions with deer. About 90% of all reported animal-related crashes involve deer and 50% of those crashes traditionally take place in the months of October through December. In Lee County alone, damage amounts has reached $1,276,234 for 502 accidents from 2010-2012. These included 24 injuries.
