SANFORD–Hundreds of plates of barbecue and all the trimmings will be served today at the annual benefit for the Bread Basket. The Bread Basket is one of the most vital agencies in Sanford and Lee County, providing a nourishing meal to nearly 200 people five days a week. The agency gets no city or county dollars and operates solely on contributions. The benefit barbecue is being held at St.Luke United Methodist Church on Wicker Street and will be served until 7 PM. Serving starts at 11 AM.
