Blake Shelton reunites with the original coaches on the season five premiere of The Voice Monday night. Even though his chemistry with Adam Levine, Cee Lo Green and Christina Aguilera is good as ever, Blake knows he’s got to step up if he wants his team to win for a fourth straight season.
Blake says, “I think it’s going to create probably the most competitive season that we’ve seen on The Voice so far because the four us — it really brings back those original rivalries that we had in the beginning.”
Blake feels this season’s crop of talent is the best they’ve ever had on The Voice. Being able to mentor those talented singers alongside his fellow coaches makes it that much sweeter.
Speaking of his reunion with Adam, Cee Lo and Christina, Blake says, “It’s a reminder of how lucky we were to accidentally somehow end up with four people who actually became instant friends and who argue and bicker like friends do, like family do, and we love like family.”
The Voice season five premieres Monday night at 8 p.m. ET on NBC.
