Thompson Square is set to perform a free concert at the Dover International Speedway later this month prior to the AAA 400 NASCAR Sprint Cup Series race. The husband-and-wife duo will also sing the national anthem at the event on Sunday, September 29 after performing in Pittsburgh the night before with Luke Bryan. Go to DoverSpeedway.com for ticket information.

Thompson Square’s Keifer and Shawna Thompson won’t be getting behind the wheel of any race cars at the Dover gig, but they’re no strangers to traveling at high speeds. Tuesday night in Nashville, Thompson Square managed to perform at the ACM Honors at the Ryman Auditorium downtown after zipping over from a performance at the Grand Ole Opry House 20 minutes away.

According to Thompson Square’s rep, the duo wanted to keep their previously scheduled Opry date while also paying tribute to another one of country music’s great duos, The Judds, at the ACM Honors. It turns out Wynonna Judd personally selected Thompson Square to perform in The Judds’ honor as the mother-daughter duo received the ACM Cliffie Stone Pioneer Award.
