Little Big Town is headed into the studio very soon to work on the follow up to their platinum-selling album, Tornado, which just got a CMA Album of the Year nomination this week. That honor definitely gave the country quartet a big shot in the arm to go make some new music.

LBT’s Karen Fairchild tells CMT.com, “If this nomination doesn’t inspire you to continue on as we head into the studio, what else could?”

While Tornado has given Little Big Town the biggest success of their careers, they’re not going to just repeat the same musical formula for the follow-up project.

“We want to push ourselves because that’s how this album happened for us,” Karen explains. “But we love what we’re doing right now. And we want to keep on doing it.”

Little Big Town is also up for CMA Vocal Group of the Year and Video of the Year for “Tornado.” The 47th Annual CMA Awards will be handed out Wednesday, November 6, live from Nashville at 8 p.m. ET on ABC.
