(GROVELAND, Calif.) — The large fire at Yosemite National Park is now 20 percent contained.
Forest Service firefighter Lee Bentley says that crews are “starting to get a little bit of a handle” on the blaze.
Officials do not believe that the fire will cause a problem with the Hetch Hetchy Reservoir, which supplies 85 percent of San Francisco’s water. On Monday, officials were concerned that ash or debris could end up in the reservoir.
Containment of the flames has slowly increased over the last two days. Early Monday morning, the fire was just seven percent contained. That figure was later bumped up to 15 percent on Monday before climbing to 20 percent on Tuesday.
