Taylor Swift’s record-breaking run of shows at Los Angeles’ Staples Center came to a close Saturday night with a very special guest: none other than Jennifer Lopez.
“When I was a little girl..you know how you had your favorite song?” Taylor asked the crowd. “That you would play over and over and over again in your room…and you’d sing in front of your mirror into a hairbrush, right? Los Angeles…THIS is my hairbrush song!” As the crowd went wild, J-Lo appeared, dressed head to toe in silver sequins. The two then launched into J-Lo’s signature tune, “Jenny from the Block”
“Sang Jenny From the Block with @JLo tonight at Staples Center. STILL FANGIRLING OUT ABOUT IT,” Taylor tweeted afterwards. And Jennifer wrote to Taylor, “@taylorswift13 had so much fun with you tonight!!!,” and added the hashtag “#hairbrushsongs.”
With her final show at Staples Center, Taylor is now the solo artist who’s logged the most sold-out shows at the venue, with a career total of 11. That’s for a solo artist, only, though — she’s tied with the Latin pop group Mana, which has also had 11 sellouts.
