(SHARON SPRINGS, Kan.) — Officials in the small Kansas community of Sharon Springs are warning residents to stay clear of a giant sinkhole that suddenly appeared and continues to expand.
The sinkhole, which is located in a remote area of Sharon Springs, stretches to 200 feet across and 90 feet deep.
Officials are still unsure what caused the sinkhole, which swallowed a small pasture and is described as looking like a canyon.
Wallace County Sheriff Larry Townsend believes greater forces are at play: “Man had nothing to do with this. This is a God thing.”
