(PHILADELPHIA) — A gas explosion tore apart a row home in Philadelphia on Monday, injuring eight people, including two children.

It left little more than rubble behind, and heavily damaged two adjacent homes.

A contractor working on a water heater in the basement of the home that exploded suffered burns over 22 percent of his body.
