Jason Aldean has always given off a superstar vibe onstage, even when he didn’t have a hit to his name.

Jason was playing small clubs back when his debut single, “Hicktown,” was just starting its run up the charts. Though most of the fans in the audience had no idea who he was, Jason tried to perform like he already had 20 #1 hits.  He tells CMT.com, “I’d go out there like I was Mick Jagger, and I had no reason to have any of that swagger.”

Once Jason had a few hits and started opening for Rascal Flatts in big arenas, he continued performing like a major headliner to win over the band’s fans.

“I was like, ‘This is what I’m shooting for. I’m ready for this to be my show,'” Jason says. “I knew I had one shot to go out and show these people what I did and what I felt like I did well.  So I tried to go out there with the confidence of a superstar — even though I wasn’t.”

Jason still has that onstage swagger now that he is a country superstar. See where he’s playing next at JasonAldean.com.
