You do NOT want to poke fun at Taylor Swift on a shirt without the approval of her camp or her fans.

You’ll recall that last month, Abercrombie & Fitch pulled a T-shirt that read “#more boyfriends than t.s.” after fans complained.  Soon afterward, Taylor’s reps asked the owner of a Rhode Island T-shirt business to stop selling a tee that mocked Taylor buying a mansion in the state’s village of Watch Hill.

The latest Taylor clothing controversy centers around a tank top that lists the last names of her celebrity ex-boyfriends. The brand behind the top, Bad Kids Clothing, explains on its website that the shirt was inspired by a “light-hearted joke between friends,” a couple of whom are Taylor fans. The shirt originally read, “Jonas & Till & Lautner & Mayer & Monteith & Gyllenhaal & Redmayne & Efron & Kennedy & Styles.”

The online brand posted a picture of the shirt on Instagram, and long story short, Taylor fans “threatened to kill us and burn our store down because of how disrespectful we were being to Taylor,” according to its website.

Bad Kids Clothing states that a new wave of attacks from the fans began after Glee actor Cory Monteith — one of the men mentioned on the top — died last Saturday.

The brand says, “We will not be removing the shirt from our store.  We will however remove Cory’s name.  This shirt is intended to be light-hearted and a joke — for those who can understand this type of humor.  We will deal with the death threats and incredible slander from here on out, when necessary, with proper authorities as it is never acceptable to threaten anyone’s life.”
