Florida Georgia Line‘s Brian Kelley and Tyler Hubbard met as students at Nashville’s Belmont University and started writing and touring together before they ever signed a major record deal. The duo actually sold 100,000 copies of their monster hit, “Cruise,” before they ever hooked up with their current label, Republic Nashville.
Tyler tells Milwaukee’s Journal Sentinel, “When me and B.K. started this thing, we were looking for fans instead of looking for a record deal. It started out organically, and we took a different approach. It got to the point where we couldn’t turn record labels down anymore.”
Having a big staff behind them has clearly taken Florida Georgia line to the next level. For example, they’ve now sold an additional 4 million copies of “Cruise.”
Says Brian, “We knew that with hard work and a good team around you, a lot can be achieved.”
Florida Georgia Line is on the road with Luke Bryan‘s Dirt Road Diaries tour all year long.
