Kacey Musgraves takes a detour from Kenny Chesney‘s No Shoes Nation tour this Sunday for a performance at the Bonnaroo Music and Arts Festival in Manchester, TN. Eric Church and Dierks Bentley have played this mostly rock festival in the past few years, and Kacey can’t wait to bring her brand of country music to this crowd.
She tells ABC News Radio, “We get to play for like an hour, I think, and really kind of jam out. And the festival crowds are always fun, ’cause they’re there to cut loose and just have a good time.”
Kacey has attended a few shows at Bonnaroo in the past few years, including sets by Bruce Springsteen, Nine Inch Nails and Snoop Dogg. Having her own performance slot at Bonnaroo is a dream come true, but Kacey is going to the festival as a fan too.
“I’m playing on the same day that Tom Petty is playing,” Kacey says. “So, I’m just, like, freaking out.”
