Luke Bryan is firing on all cylinders these days as he prepares to release his fourth studio album, due out August 13. That project features Luke’s latest hit, “Crash My Party,” and there are plenty more hits where that came from on the upcoming release.
After his performance at the CMA Music Festival in Nashville Thursday night, Luke said, “This next album, I’m just amazed at how it’s come together. My producer was on the bus right before the show, and Jeff and I are just kind of looking at each other and giggling. I’m happy with the whole process.”
While Luke has penned #1 hits for himself and other artists, he only had a hand in writing about three or four tracks on the next album. The rest came from other writers in Music City.
He explains, “I just got some of the best songs I’ve ever heard from the town of Nashville.”
Luke is also keeping the road hot on his Dirt Road Diaries tour with special guests Thompson Square, who have been sidelined by Keifer Thompson‘s vocal problems lately. Luke knows first-hand how a relentless touring schedule can wreak havoc on an artist’s voice.
He says, “It’s been a battle with me all year with my voice, just night in, night out, you know, learning the new roles of headlining.”
Luke wanted to get onto Keifer for not canceling a few shows earlier to save his voice, but things seem to be looking up for Keifer all the same.
“We do know he’s getting better and things are looking positively, and we miss him,” Luke says of Keifer. “We miss him just incredibly out on the road.”
