American Idol runner-up Kree Harrison is back home in Nashville and making her Grand Ole Opry debut Tuesday night. She’s been to the Opry many times since moving to Nashville 13 years go, but knowing what to expect doesn’t make the performance any less nerve racking for her.
Kree tells ABC News Radio, “For me to be able to stand on that stage, it’s going to be a different rodeo.”
Kree will be thinking about her late mother and father when she takes the Opry stage for the first time. She’s even considering paying tribute to her dad in song.
“My dad’s favorite hymn was ‘In the Garden,'” Kree says, “and I’m really thinking hard about maybe doing that, ’cause I always said if I ever play the Opry, I want to sing that song.”
American Idol judge Keith Urban and former Idol contestant-turned-Dancing with the Stars champ Kellie Pickler are also playing the Tuesday night Opry. Rascal Flatts is on the bill too.
