(DALLAS) — The man accused of carrying out the deadly massacre at Fort Hood, Texas, in 2009 has made his request formal: Nidal Hasan wants to fire his lawyers.
The judge in this case, Army Col. Tara Osborn, seems inclined to let Hasan represent himself as he’s been deemed mentally competent to do so. First, though, she wants him examined by a physician to see if he’s physically up to the challenge.
Hasan is now in a wheelchair after he was shot at the end of the rampage that killed 13 people and injured 32 others.
