When you’re Tim McGraw, the sky’s the limit when it comes to choosing musical collaborators and duet partners.  That’s why it didn’t take much convincing for Taylor Swift and Keith Urban to join Tim on his latest hit, “Highway Don’t Care.”

Tim had wanted to record a song with Taylor for a while before finding this song, and he thinks the feel and subject matter of “Highway Don’t Care” made it the perfect vehicle for them to finally work together.

He says, “What made it even more perfect, it’s not any sort of love interest or anything, what her part is in the song.  It’s sort of a third-person narrative that comes through from this radio.  So that made it a really neat way to introduce somebody else into your song.”

While Tim would also love to sing a song with Keith someday, he thinks Keith’s guitar part takes “Highway Don’t Care” to a new level.

“When I sent it over to him, he tore it up,” Tim says of Keith recording the song.  “I mean, he really laid something great down.”

“Highway Don’t Care” is included on Tim’s latest album, Two Lanes of Freedom, now in stores.
