(GRANBURY, Texas) — At least two people were killed and as many as 100 reported injured Wednesday night in north Texas following severe weather that included tornadoes and heavy hail.
The tornado began earlier Wednesday evening with an intense thunderstorm that moved from the southwest before splitting off into at least two or three tornadoes that moved northeast.
Ambulances and police vehicles rushed away from a subdivision in the town of Granbury, just southwest of Fort Worth, Texas. Meanwhile, residents who have been forced from their homes are being evacuated out of the storm-wrecked town on school buses.
Granbury City Manager Wayne McKethan said first responders are searching through 40 to 50 homes in the area that have been impacted.
