SANFORD–Chamber of Commerce officials have made a decision to postpone this year’s Small Business Expo, indefinitely. This would have been the 25th EXPO, and Chamber President Bob Joyce said Thursday afternoon that the Expo would probably be held in the fall when it is not competing with so many other events. The Small Business Banquet, in its 28th year, will go on as scheduled. It will be held Thursday, May 9 at the Dennis A. Wicker Civic Center and will feature former WRAL Anchor, Charlie Gaddy, who will receive the LIFE-TIME ACHIEVEMENT AWARD. The Small Business Person and Advocate of the year will be recognized. Entertainment will be by the RIPCORDS, an accapelo group from Elon University which is well-known for its oldies music. Tickets are $20 AND ARE ON SALE now at the Chamber of Commerce.
