Johnny Cash certainly left his mark on American music, and now the late singer/songwriter will be honored with his own stamp. According to BeyondThePerf.com, the Man in Black’s image will grace a “Forever” stamp that the U.S. Postal Service will issue later this year as part of its new Music Icons series.
Featuring a photo of Johnny that was snapped by Frank Bez during a session for the 1963 Ring of Fire: The Best of Johnny Cash compilation, the stamp is square and designed to resemble a 45-rpm single.
A member of the Country Music Hall of Fame and the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame, Cash died in 2003 at age 71 from complications of diabetes.
