Emmylou Harris could be headed to the big house. According to TMZ, the Country Music Hall of Fame member is charged with a hit-and-run after allegedly hitting another car with her rental car on the 405 freeway in Los Angeles last October. The L.A. County District Attorney charged Harris with the misdemeanor offense Wednesday. If convicted, she could spend up to six months in jail.
When the story broke in December, Harris’s rep told TMZ the singer was involved in a “minor traffic accident” and didn’t realize she’d rubbed bumpers with another vehicle. At the time, the rep referred to the incident as a “garden-variety accident that happens everyday on the 405.”
Harris’s rep has not responded to a request for a comment on the matter yet.
