(NEW YORK) — On Wednesday, federal prosecutors in New York City said they have charged three people responsible for creating “Gozi,” a computer virus that disrupts bank websites.

The virus causes the websites to appear differently on infected computers, tricking users into divulging passwords, usernames and other security credentials.

The suspects have been identified as Russian, Latvian and Romanian nationals, who court records say, have stolen millions from infected computers around the world.
