Oh, the irony! Taylor Swift auditioned for the movie musical Les Misérables, but didn’t get the part. Now, the soundtrack for that movie has knocked her album, Red, out of the #1 spot on the chart. Red had held that position for seven non-consecutive weeks since its release in October.
Not long ago, the producer of Les Miz confirmed to Showbiz411.com that Taylor auditioned for the role of Eponine in the film, but she ultimately lost the part to the then-unknown actress Samantha Barks. Billboard reports that the movie’s soundtrack has now grabbed the #1 spot on the Top 200 album chart, marking the first time a soundtrack has held that position since last April, when The Hunger Games topped the chart.
Coincidentally, Taylor has a song on the Hunger Games soundtrack, “Safe and Sound,” which has earned her a Golden Globe nomination and a Grammy nod.
