SANFORD–Beginning at 11:30 am Thursday, an estimated 900 video parlors around the state will be required to shut their doors. In the region, dozens of parlors and stand alone machines were located in unincorporated areas, where strate law exempted them from fees. In addition some towns had yet to charge the special use license that generated thousands of dollars. City of Sanford Finance Director Melissa Cardinali said it won’t change things here at all because they hadn’t begun charging additional fees.
