Are the Dixie Chicks returning to the country music fold?  The trio has signed on to replace Lady Antebellum as the headliner for the Craven Country Jamboree in Canada on Saturday, July 13, 2013. The three original members — Natalie Maines, Martie Maguire and Emily Robison — will run through their greatest hits during the show.

The Dixie Chicks were at the top of the country format until Natalie Maines made comments against then-president George W. Bush in 2003 regarding the Iraq war.  The fallout led to the Chicks’ music being yanked from most country radio playlists, though their biggest hits like “Cowboy Take Me Away” and “Goodbye Earl” have crept back onto a few country airwaves since then.

Other acts on the bill for the Craven Country Jamboree include Kenny Chesney, Tim McGraw, Scotty McCreery, Brantley Gilbert and Gloriana among others.
