Kellie Pickler‘s album 100 Proof is ending up on several year-end best of lists including Rolling Stone‘s list of the best country albums of 2012.  That particular honor means a lot to Kellie, who really showed her country roots on this project.

She tells CMT.com, “It feels good because I feel accepted for being myself.  That album is me, so for someone like Rolling Stone to embrace the project just makes me feel like I’m accepted, as well.”

Kellie fought hard to have a more traditional country sound on 100 Proof too.

“Now, I’m glad I fought for the songs I wanted to be on there,” Kellie says.  “It was worth the work and the wait.”

Look for new music from Kellie to hit the airwaves in the new year.
