It’s a great to be Keith Urban and Nicole Kidman these days. The couple woke up Thursday morning to a collective three Golden Globe nominations, including an Original Song nod for Keith and co-writer Monty Powell for “For You,” from Act of Valor. Nicole was nominated in two separate categories for her roles in The Paperboy and HBO’s Hemingway & Gellhorn.
Keith says of his Golden Globe nomination, “The most rewarding gift for me as a songwriter is knowing that the song has somehow made a connection. I’ve been fortunate and moved to hear first-hand how it has impacted others’ lives. For that, and for this nomination, I’m so very grateful and honored.”
Taylor Swift is also nominated with The Civil Wars in the Original Song category with “Safe and Sound” from The Hunger Games soundtrack.
Of note, Connie Britton and Hayden Panettiere both also picked up Golden Globe nominations for their respective roles in ABC’s Nashville.
The 70th Annual Golden Globe Awards will be presented January 13 in Beverly Hills, and will air live in all time zones on NBC. Tina Fey and Amy Poehler will host the telecast.
