Kenny Chesney will perform at halftime of the Dallas Cowboys game on Thanksgiving Day, November 22 to kick off the Salvation Army’s annual Red Kettle Campaign. This is the 16th year the Cowboys and the Salvation Army have teamed up for this launch, and Carrie Underwood, Toby Keith, Keith Urban and Reba are among the stars who have participated in the past.
Kenny is thrilled to take part in the tradition, especially as the Northeast continues to recover from Hurricane Sandy a few weeks back.
“As we can see in our country today, everybody, a lot of people are in need even without what happened on the East Coast,” Kenny explains. “I think that anybody that has been blessed as I have been — I think just to be able to help and give back through music is the least you can do really. So, I’m incredibly excited to be a part of that.”
So far, the Salvation Army’s Red Kettle Campaign has raised $1.5 billion.
