Gary Allan is back with his new single, “Every Storm (Runs Out of Rain),” which is his first song on the radio in several years.  His new album is due out early next year, and Gary isn’t worried that his time off the charts has affected his standing with his fans or the music industry.

“I’ve never really cared about being the latest, greatest thing,” Gary explains, “I never really fight to be in that inner circle because I think that person won’t be around very long.  I think whoever is the latest, greatest thing, that’s usually an up and down.”

Instead, Gary is basing his career on what he’s picked up from long-term stars like George Strait and Willie Nelson, and that includes keeping his fans guessing about what kind of music he’ll make next.

He says, “Anytime I’ve gotten a lot of commercial success, I always try to make sure that I’m doing something that really pulls at your heart a different way.”

No matter where he sits on the charts, Gary plans to continue making country music and following his own muse.

“I’m not chasing fame,” he says. “I just want to keep making great music, I guess, is the difference.  I could live without the spotlight.”

Gary will perform a few new songs at his November 29 show in Austin, TX.
