Reba makes her debut as a rapper on Friday’s episode of Malibu Country, with a little help from Gym Class Heroes frontman Travie McCoy. The two duet on the ABC sitcom’s theme, a song Reba actually discovered back in Music City.
“That was Nashville writers… I heard the song, absolutely loved it, and it fit the script of the TV show,” she says. Of her “little rap version,” Reba says “It’s a hoot.”
Since she plays a struggling country singer on the show, Reba says there’s a chance fans may hear her performing her own hits.
“We are still in the midst of working all that out,” she says. “We’re kind of piecing this together as we go. So, we’re hoping that more and more of the Reba songs can get in there, and new material too.”
Malibu Country airs Fridays at 8:30 p.m. Eastern on ABC.
