CAMERON–The North Carolina Department of Public Safety and the State Highway Patrol honored a Moore County based trooper from Lee County who died in the line of duty 50 years ago.  Patrolman Henry A. Hight, father of R. V. Hight, died in 1962 after an automobile accident.  He was attempting to aid a fellow officer when the accident occurred.  The bridge named in Hight’s honor is the southbound bridge as you enter Moore County from Lee County on U.S. 1.
